About Economy Batteries
An independent guide to buying batteries for the things people actually maintain: golf carts, solar arrays, RVs, boats and backup power.
Battery retail is a category where the spec sheet does most of the selling and most of the confusion. The figures that matter — usable amp-hours, depth of discharge, cycle life at a stated depth, charge acceptance at temperature — are buried under headline wattage and marketing claims about "5,000 cycles".
This site exists to do the arithmetic instead: cost per usable kilowatt-hour over life, runtime under a real load, and the constraints (cold charging, charger profiles, fitment) that decide whether a purchase works out.
How we make money
Through affiliate commissions from retailers when a reader buys through our links, at no extra cost to them. That never changes a recommendation, and where a cheaper option is the better buy, we say so — a guide that only recommends the highest-commission product is not worth reading twice.
What this site is not
It is not a substitute for the manufacturer's specification, an electrician's sign-off, or a code-compliant installation. Electrical work involving inverters, transfer switches and high-current DC carries real risk of fire and shock. Where that applies, the guide tells you to hire someone.
